New 2017 Chevrolet Impala at McLoughlin Chevrolet for Milwaukie, OR
Do you want an upscale looking car but without being mistaken for a business-class limousine service car? Do you also want a strong engine for lane changing at highway speeds but without looking like a crass muscle-car revamp? Enter the 2017 Chevrolet Impala, with its balanced of both worlds: a refined exterior with a touch of sport, and an available V6 to get you there quickly. The Impala adds to this with a significant amount of passenger legroom and trunk space (18.8 cubic feet), a great car for longer commutes or for taking friends and family on trips with ease. You know Chevrolet understands high class looks when there are currently at time of writing only four exterior colors, intended for those who know what they want already: Black, Summit White, Blue Velvet Metallic, and Silver Ice Metallic. And with an optional engine block heater, remote start and keyless entry you will always be able to be punctual! Redesigned in 2014 and no major need for changing what they did there, the Impala might just be the car you are looking for today, and at the right price point as well.
Under the Impala's Hood
Let's face it, in today's drive-centric world you need a car that can get you there safely, quickly, and with assurance, and that is all here in the Impala. All 2017 Impalas have a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Before getting into the predominant engines, to be thorough here Chevrolet also offers a switchable bi-fuel Impala V6 that runs on either natural gas (CNG) or gasoline. The engine produces 260 hp and 247 lb-ft on gas, reducing to 230 hp and 218 lb-ft on CNG. The LS and LT are standard with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine (196 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque), EPA-rated at 25 mpg combined (22 city/31 highway). Also paired with the four-cylinder is an automatic stop-start system for fuel economy purposes. Available for the LS and LT (and standard on Premier) is the 3.6-liter V6 (305 hp and 264 lb-ft of torque), EPA rated at 22 mpg combined (18 city/28 highway). Couple these engines with a four-wheel independent suspension and both front and rear stabilizer bars, and it makes for a very comfortable and quiet cabin ride anywhere you go.

Safety is one of several well-provided-for areas in the 2017 Impala, as Chevrolet is not a company prone to throwing all of its resources into only one aspect of a vehicle. In government crash testing, the Impala received a perfect five stars for overall crash protection, including five stars for frontal-impact and five stars for side-impact collisions. It comes standard with dusk sensing headlamps, 4-wheel ABS, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and front knee airbags. Also standard is GM's OnStar service (with subscription), which includes automatic crash notification, an emergency assistance button, remote door unlock and stolen vehicle assistance. Standard on the Premier, optional on the LT: rearview camera, forward collision warning, lane-departure warning and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Available for the Premier only is forward collision mitigation with automatic emergency braking. So, Chevrolet has your safety in mind against the dangers of the road here, but just as importantly, they address your daily needs as a driver of the dynamic roads out there, and can ensure you and your various passengers travel in refined comfort and head-turning elegance along the way.
