The fully redesigned 2016 Chevy Camaro has worked tirelessly to engineer a more respectful fuel economy.The 2016 Ford Mustang does not feature a lot of mechanical changes, but rather has advanced on the technology front with the new Sync 3 touchscreen interface in hopes to make up from the extremely unreliable MyFord Touch.

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is a four-seat coupe available in four trims: 1LT, 2LT, 1SS and The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is a four-seat couple that comes available in four trims which include the 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, and 2SS. The 1LT and 2LT trims are equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-literfour-cylinder engine that can produce up to 275 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft of torque. There is also the option of a 3.6-liter V6 that can get up to 335 horsepower and 284 lb.-ft of torque.The 1SS and 2SS trim levels come with its 6.2-liter V8, which is able to produce upto 455 horsepower and 455 lb.-ft of torque. The Camaro trim levels also come standard with a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters. The automatic V8s are able to achieve up to 20 miles per gallon. 

2016 Ford Mustang Power & Handling

The 2016 Ford Mustang comes available in either a coupe or a soft-top convertible and also contains five different trim levels. These levels include the V6, EcoBoost, EcoBoost Premium, GT, and GT Premium. The 3.7-liter V6 engine comes standard on the base Mustang and has the ability to reach up to 300vhorsepower and 280 lb.-ft of torque. This configuration is able to have a fuel economy of up to 21 miles per gallon combined. The EcoBoost trims contain a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that reaches up to 310 horsepower and 320 lb.-ft of torque. With the manual transmission, the fuel economy can reach 21 miles per gallon combined and with the automatic transmission is able to achieve 22 miles per gallon combined. The GT trim levels are equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 that produces up to 435 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft of torque and has a fuel economy of 19 miles per gallon with either the automatic or manual transmission.

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro blends themes of previous generations and current generations in its cockpit with a flat-bottom steering wheel design and fingertip paddles that shift through the gears in the automatic equipped cars. The Camaro now has an integrated tachometer, speedometer, and central driver information screen in order to create a more modern and clean look. The interior is featured with many panel or trim feature options, such as the incorporation of an all-new touchscreen interface system. The front seats are molded to fit you comfortably and are designed to be supportive for the driver and passengers alike.

2016 Ford Mustang Features & Design

The Ford Mustang contains an interior that gestures toward the Mustang's past with its a dual-cowl dashboard, but has many up-to-date features as well. These features include keyless entry and ignition, a rearview camera, and Track Apps. The Sync voice command system comes standard and the available Sync 3 touchscreen infotainment system is a step up from the previous MyFord Touch predecessor. The steering wheel now features a telescoping feature in order to create a more comfortable drive, but the thigh support in the seats is not perfect for every body type.


It is apparent that these two vehicles are great options in their own right, but one must always outweigh the other. The 2016 Chevy Camaro made sure to keep the current drivers in mind by enhancing the fuel efficiency, which is now a large deciding factor in the process of buying a vehicle. The Ford Mustang has made little mechanical changes, but made up for it with getting rid of the unreliable MyFord Touch interface.
